OK.... Moving along
As of Friday the 18th , we will be using the new entrance, 100mtrs to the west, near the power lines. We will enter the field from the south, driving along parallel to the power lines, then a lefty to take you along the south boundary, then I think 2 lefts into the field. You will need to park about 15mtrs away from the fence, so as to meet the 30mtr rule for the temporary strip.. The glider flyers will need to consider their options, as cars will not be allowed on the field when things are set up properly.
I hear that most of the earth moving has finished until after Christmas.
AND there is still plenty to be done to get our field operational... so bear with us
Thanks Col

The field will be closed during working hrs.... 6.30am until 4.30 pm. I have just come from there, and there are BIG machines zotting around every where.... No place for a small car. I will review the situation Friday lunchtime, things should have settled by then, and our new entrance operating, keeping us and them separate.

This little prattle is a follow up
on the December one,
to follow up on the result, and some other things that got missed
on the night.
First off, the
attendance. I think we did better than 50% of the members, so people do
care about our future. And you all listened to the presentation by Pat Meehan,
who probably knows more about what is happening than anybody, but still doesn't
have all the answers, as things are still evolving. I was particularly impressed
with the questions Pat got asked. That said, I think the VARMS
plan is now set in place, and we can get set to and make our little patch
work. And yes, like marriage, it may
take a little work before we are happy with it.

If
you wish to be part of the future direction of VARMS, then you need to be part
of the December meeting
Before
you start, take the time to think of the future of Briggs Field about 18 months
ago.
The December meeting
at Briggs Field will be quite special for a number of reasons, if for no other
than it will be the last for the field layout that we have become so
comfortable with. The shelter will go on the Monday after the
meeting.
